ADVANCED TRACK

Duration: 14–16 weeks | Frequency: 1–2 sessions per week | Session length: 75–90 minutes

Program Objective

To deepen technical skills, expand creative thinking, and strengthen musical confidence in children, preparing them for more advanced study and helping them grow as young musicians who understand how music communicates meaning and serves purpose.

Curriculum

Stage 1: Foundation

Objective Rudimentary Principles

  • Refined technical control through better coordination, cleaner note changes, and stronger tone production
  • Advanced rhythmic skill through syncopation, wider meter awareness, and layered rhythm work
  • Developed listening through attention to detail, harmony, melody, dynamics, and articulation
  • Expanded musical knowledge through key signatures, scale patterns, time signatures, and introductory composer awareness

Conceptual Knowledge

  • Music as communication through musical ideas, feelings, and intentional choices
  • Expanded musical elements through melody, harmony, rhythm, form, timbre, and effect
  • Introduction to musical structure through phrases, periods, and common forms such as binary and ternary

Applied Theories

  • Precision performance studies and technical exercises
  • Guided listening and comparison of masterworks and interpretations
  • Creative exploration through melody writing, rhythmic invention, and structured improvisation

Stage 2: Formation

  • Independent work habits through multi-step projects and self-monitoring
  • Stronger musical thinking through interpretation, dynamics, tempo, and articulation choices
  • Technical refinement through consistency and troubleshooting
  • Developing personal style through growing awareness of preference and musical tendency

  • Expanded concepts through modulation, harmonic function, texture, and orchestration awareness

Stage 4: Purpose & Application

  • Music as gift through stewardship, gratitude, and joyful sharing

Applied Theories

  • Final showcase with a collection of best work
  • Purpose project for a person, occasion, celebration, worship, or service setting
  • Celebration and commissioning through gratitude, recognition, and encouragement for continued growth
